In liquid dispensing industries like paints, chemicals, food & beverages, and lubricants, safe and precise handling of filled pails is critical. A robot automates the process of gripping, transporting, and palletizing heavy liquid containers.
Problem
During palletizing operations, Robot’s gripper occasionally failed to release buckets when pallet height was slightly misaligned. This led to spillage of liquid containers, creating unsafe working conditions, interrupting production flow, and delaying dispatch schedules.
Solution
A spring was added to the gripper mechanism to create back pressure, ensuring smooth and consistent release of buckets regardless of minor pallet height variations. This simple mechanical adjustment stabilized the robot’s performance and eliminated spillage incidents.
